Come, Holy Spirit

Dear Family,

I was reminded, in a sermon I heard this week, that we can't always be assured that the Lord will give us what we ask, but we can be assured that He'll give us His Holy Spirit, if we ask.

 "If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!" - Luke 11:13
Pentecost Sunday, the day we celebrate and participate in the coming of the Holy Spirit upon God's people, is this Sunday, May 31.  And this day, we welcome a special guest presider and preacher, the Rev. Micah Jackson.  He is Associate Professor of Preaching at the Seminary of the Southwest, in Austin.
Some of you got to meet him during a Lenten supper night earlier this year.

Please join your church family at 10am for worship, followed by fellowship time.

Also coming up:
St. James' T-shirt sign up; and Rummage Sale sign up available in fellowship hall
Bishop's Committee meeting, Monday, June 1, 7pm

Prayer requests:
Nathan and Kelly's safe travel to and from Russia to meet their prospective daughter;
God's guidance for the Cotton's granddaughter, Jaycie, who graduates from high school this week;
Blessings on all graduates who touch our lives and are connected to our church family;
Thanksgiving to Curtis and Lou Brown for their generous care of our church flower beds.

Let us rejoice in the coming of His Holy Spirit - glory to God whose power working in us can do infinitely more than we can ask for or imagine.
In Him,
