I Will Fulfill the Promise

Dear Family in Christ,

A very happy Thanksgiving to everyone this week. Here is our collect for tomorrow, Thanksgiving Day:

Almighty and gracious Father, we give you thanks for the
fruits of the earth in their season and for the labors of those
who harvest them. Make us, we pray, faithful stewards of
your great bounty, for the provision of our necessities and
the relief of all who are in need, to the glory of your Name;
through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with
you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Come join us this Sunday at 10am for Holy Eucharist, as we begin the season of Advent. We'll be doing a trial run of new liturgy booklets, so please give us your input following the service.

Then stay afterward for fellowship time and Bible study in the library.

"The days are surely coming, says the Lord, when I will fulfill the promise I made to the house of Israel and the house of Judah." - Jeremiah 33:14-16. Come learn more about that promise. It's for you too.

Hail to the King

Join us Sunday, Nov. 22, for a celebration of Jesus our King. It's Christ the King Sunday - the last Sunday in the church year.

To honor our King this Sunday, please bring your pledge of giving to St. James' Church for a blessing at the offertory. If you did not receive a pledge card, please let us know.

This Sunday, immediately following worship is our Meals on Wheels preparation and delivery. We always need help with this ministry, so don't be shy about asking how it's done.

Also, this Sunday night, Nov. 22, at 7:00pm, is the Taylor Area Ministerial Alliance-sponsored Thanksgiving Service. It will be held again at St. Paul Lutheran Church, our neighbors, literally! See you Sunday.

In Christ our King,
Your pastor, Kelly
