Grant, O God, that following the example of your servant James the Just, brother of our Lord, your Church may give itself continually to prayer and to the reconciliation of all who are at variance and enmity; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and ever. Amen.
We will celebrate the Feast of St James on Sunday, October 20. A festive breakfast at 9:30am will be followed by Eucharist at 10:30am.
St. James was the leader of the community in Jerusalem after the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. He was credited with developing consensus in disagreements about worship between Jews and Gentiles. It seems fitting that our church is a community that welcomes those with differing opinions and viewpoints and thrives on joining together in service to feed the hungry.
